1. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a natural remedy for oily hair. The acetic acid in it can help balance the pH on the scalp. Which later will help prevent excess oil production and reduce oil in your hair. Apple cider vinegar also works as a hair tonic for those of you who want to get soft and shiny hair.

How to use it:

  • Mix two to three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water.
  • After washing your hair with shampoo, use this liquid when rinsing.
  • Wait for a few minutes and then wash it off with cold water.
  • Repeat two to three times a week.


2. Lemon

Lemon is a great fruit to treat a variety of conditions, including an oily scalp. Lemons contain many important vitamins and minerals that promote healthy hair. The acidic nature of lemons also helps balance the pH level of the scalp and controls oil production.

How to use lemon for the scalp as follows:

3. Aloe vera

In addition, aloe vera can provide nutrients to the roots of your hair. The soft and smooth nature of aloe vera will keep your hair healthy.

How to use it:

  • Mix one teaspoon of aloe vera gel or sap and one tablespoon of lemon juice in one place.
  • Wash your hair and let the shampoo sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off.
  • Use this homemade shampoo every time you wash your hair to prevent excess oil on your hair.
  • You can store this homemade shampoo for a week in the refrigerator.


4. Green tea

According to a study published in PubMed, green tea contains antioxidants that have been shown to reduce sebum production and skin irritation. Although it can reduce sebum production, it turns out that the content in green tea also won't dry out your hair.

To get the benefits of this green tea, prepare a tablespoon of green tea powder then boil it in a hot cup. Let it boil for 15 minutes. After that, let stand and filter into a container. You can use this green tea boiled water as a rinse after shampooing (using shampoo and conditioner). If so, dry with a towel and do this step regularly for best results.
